Job Overview
As a member of our team, you will help bring immersive gaming experiences to Korean players by ensuring accurate and culturally adapted translations.
Responsibilities
- Full proficiency in [English] & [Chinese (Simplified)] .
- Excellent translation or editing skills. Background in translation, proofreading, or language studies preferred.
- Play through pre-release versions of video games to identify language mistakes and cultural inconsistencies.
- Provide detailed reports of localization errors, such as typos, grammar issues, and dialogue inaccuracies.
- Cultural sensitivity, with the ability to identify content that may be culturally, politically, or religiously sensitive.
- High attention to quality, detail-oriented and responsible, have the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proactive in learning and providing constructive feedback; good communication with the team.
- Able to continuously refine and improve Japanese terminology and expressions, while maintaining consistency with style guides and terminology lists.
- Ability to work independently and reliably with minimal supervision.
- Experience in in-game localization/LQA testing is a plus.
Qualifications
- Full proficiency in English and Malay.
- Exceptional translation or proofreading skills; candidates with a background in translation, proofreading, or language-related fields are preferred
- Strong knowledge of video game terminology and culture.
- High cultural sensitivity, with the ability to identify potentially sensitive content related to culture, politics, or religion.
- Ability to work independently, delivering high-quality results with minimal supervision.
- Detail-oriented, with a proven ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Proficiency in transcreation (creative translation) is a plus.
- Familiarity with games and in-game Localization Quality Assurance (LQA) testing is preferred.
- This is a part-time position with the option for remote work.
- Being available to work on site/ during standard hours (9 AM – 6 PM GMT+8 or 9) is considered a plus.
